Ordering

How do I order a custom plate?
Head to our Plates page, pick a style, then use the live 3D configurator to choose your text, colours, size, and fixings. When you're happy with the preview, hit "Add to Cart" and check out via Stripe.
What characters can I use on my plate?
You can use uppercase letters A-Z, numbers 0-9, spaces, and a full stop (period). The maximum length depends on the plate style - typically up to 8 characters.
Can I order more than one plate at a time?
Yes! Use the "Add to Cart" button on the configurator to add multiple plates, then check out in a single order. You can mix different styles, sizes, and text across plates.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay through our secure Stripe checkout.

Product & Sizing

What are the plates made from?
Our plates are 3D printed from high-quality plastic filament on commercial-grade printers. The standard material is PLA - a durable, lightweight plastic with a smooth matte finish.
Can I choose a different material?
For now all plates are 3D printed in PLA. We're working on expanding our range to include other materials and processes such as metal, CNC-machined, and enamel plates. Stay tuned!
What sizes are available?
We offer Mini (70×28 mm), Coupe (146×42 mm), Truck (240×68 mm), and Custom sizes. The Mini is perfect for desks and keyrings, Coupe suits dashboards and toolboxes, and Truck is great for walls and sheds.
Are these real number plates?
No. PL8M8 plates are decorative replicas designed to closely match the look of real number plates. They are intended for novelty, display, and gifting only - not for use on any vehicle on public roads.
How durable are the plates?
PLA is rigid and holds up well indoors. For outdoor use, keep them out of prolonged direct sunlight and extreme heat (above 55 °C) as PLA can soften. A sheath/holder adds extra protection.

Fixings & Add-ons

What fixing options are available?
Choose from no fixings (freestanding), adhesive tape (stick-on), velcro hanging strips, screw holes with screws, or embedded magnets (in the plate or in the holder). Each option is selected during the design process. Visit our fixings page for a detailed comparison of each option.
What is the sheath/holder?
The sheath is a separate frame that your plate slides into, making it easy to swap plates or protect the edges. You can add embedded magnets to the sheath, the plate, or both for tool-free mounting.
What is the keychain version?
The keychain option produces a pocket-sized plate with an integrated keyring loop - select 'Keychain' in the configurator to preview it in 3D. A popular gift idea.

Shipping & Tracking

How long does production take?
Each plate is printed to order. Allow 1-3 business days for production before dispatch. If you need it sooner, choose our Next Day option at checkout for priority same-day manufacturing.
How long does shipping take?
Domestic (Australia) deliveries typically arrive in 2-7 business days. We also offer a Next Day option that includes priority manufacturing and express shipping, so your plate is printed and dispatched the same day for delivery within 1-2 business days. International orders take 7-21 business days depending on destination.
How much does shipping cost?
Orders of $15 or more include free standard shipping within Australia. For orders under $15, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address. Tracked and express options are also available at checkout. International shipping rates vary by destination.
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship to Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada. Check our Shipping Policy page for the full list.
How do I track my order?
Once dispatched, you'll receive a shipping confirmation email with a tracking link. You can also enter your tracking reference on our Track page.

Returns & Issues

Can I return my plate?
Because every plate is custom made to your specifications, we can't accept returns for change of mind. If your plate arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us within 7 days and we'll sort it out.
My plate arrived damaged - what do I do?
Email us with your order number and a photo of the damage. We'll arrange a replacement or refund at no extra cost.

Care & Maintenance

How do I clean my plate?
Wipe with a soft damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or soaking in water. A microfibre cloth works best.
Can I use my plate outdoors?
PLA plates are best suited for indoor or sheltered use. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and temperatures above 55 °C. If using outdoors, a covered area like a carport or patio is ideal.
